About

The Full Story

I am a self-taught graphic designer and artist who is attending the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) for professional education to advance my skills and knowledge in the design field. I mainly use Adobe software such as Photoshop and Illustrator, with some basic experience in InDesign and Premiere Pro. Three years ago, I started as a volunteer graphic designer for Generously Giving Back, a Canadian charity co-founded by my mom, by updating older graphics to save her time, which sparked my interest in pursuing graphic design as a career. I’m currently in my second year at NAIT in the Digital Media and IT program specializing in Game Design, and would like to work as a freelance graphic designer after gathering more experience in the industry.

It’s a known fact in my household that I spend a healthy amount of time playing video games, but when I’m not gaming, I’m listening to my favourite game’s soundtracks while I design original characters. Photography is another passion of mine, especially food and nature photos, because I like to keep a record of all the beautiful things I’ve experienced in life. My hobbies are the source of my inspiration because they have a lot in common with each other and hone my creativity. Every choice made in my designs is intentional– just like the details of a character’s outfit, the notes in a song, or the lighting in a photo. Exploration and a willingness to try new things is also important; as an artist and open-world RPG fan, it’s an instinct to be curious and try different approaches to the same problem. I’m always trying to improve and see the smallest details and the big picture at the same time, because I believe in making meaningful creations that come from the heart.
