Graphics For Game Design Project
Location
Edmonton, AB
Date
November 2025 - December 2025
Game logo and user interface screens designed for the final project in a Game Design and Publishing course at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. The video game concept created for the project was themed around live streaming and social media with a target audience of all ages, and required vibrant, attention-grabbing visuals to convey that theme. As the UI designer in my team, I designed game menu screens and buttons that were user-friendly and appealing for a wide age range. I chose bright colours to give a playful feeling and designed the user interface to resemble a cell phone with apps to make the player feel immersed in the world, as the game was intended to be in virtual reality. First, I created concept art in a paint app, then I refined the graphics in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for accurate typography and colours. Because the project was for a post-secondary course, the work was very fast-paced, so I didn’t have many chances to step back from my designs and view them from an objective perspective. However, this project forced me out of my comfort zone by working with a topic I wasn’t very familiar with, and made me do lots of research to create designs that represented the core mechanics of the game.
